Professional gamers from around the world are converging on Saudi Arabia to participate in the first-ever Esports World Cup.

Kicking off tonight in Riyadh, this event will span nearly eight weeks, concluding on August 25. It aims to surpass the Gamers8 festival with a more ambitious vision and larger scale, boasting a total prize pool exceeding $60 million, a new milestone in the esports industry.

The Esports World Cup will host 22 competitions featuring 21 different video game titles. The event launches in Riyadh’s Boulevard City with an opening ceremony, which will be broadcast live on the official website.

Thirty esports organizations from Europe, North America, Asia, South America, and the Middle East have been selected to compete. These teams, chosen for their competitive successes and strategic fan engagement, will battle for the substantial prizes.

Championship Prizes

The impressive $60 million prize pool will be allocated across various categories, including the Club Championship, individual Game Championships, Qualifiers, and MVP Awards. This ensures significant rewards for teams and players excelling in their respective fields.

The Club Championship is the event’s highlight, combining results from all games to determine an overall champion. A $20 million prize pool will be distributed among the top 16 clubs based on their aggregate performance.

The game lineup includes a diverse array of esports genres, featuring well-known titles like League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Dota 2, along with newer hits such as Fortnite and Valorant.
