Quavo and Lana Del Rey Collaborate on New Track “Tough”

After teasing its release and debuting it in Boston a few weeks ago, Lana Del Rey and Quavo have now unveiled their new collaborative track, “Tough.” This country-infused song, co-produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkut, features twangy guitars and vocal exchanges between the two artists. The chorus captures a rugged spirit with lyrics like: “Tough like the scuff on a pair of old leather boots/Like the blue-collar, red-dirt attitude/Like a .38 made out of brass/Tough like the stuff on your grandpa’s glass.” The song also includes a hip-hop beat that echoes Del Rey’s “Born to Die” era.

The accompanying video, directed by Wyatt Spain Winfrey, is set in an unnamed rural area. It portrays Del Rey and Quavo slow dancing while singing, and eventually shows them sitting together in an open field.
